Frequently Asked Questions

  • Emergency and Crisis Situations:   This practice does not provide crisis intervention or emergency psychiatric care. If a patient is experiencing:
  •  - Suicidal or homicidal thoughts,
  • - A mental health crisis or medication emergency,
  •  - Any life-threatening symptoms,

THEY MUST CALL 911 OR GO TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY ROOM

  • Unsecure Contact:   This practice will not respond to messages via Facebook, Instagram, text message, or through third parties. These are not HIPAA-compliant or appropriate for clinical care. Please contact the clinic through the patient portal or 765-684-4979.
  • Practice Scope:   This practice is a non-emergency outpatient psychiatric service. It offers evaluation, medication management, and ongoing treatment during scheduled appointments only. Neither the provider nor collaborating physician offers 24/7 emergency coverage.
  • Medication Adjustments Require and Appointment: Medication changes, including dosage adjustments or adding new medications, may not be made via messaging, These decisions typically require a clinical assessment and may need a scheduled appointment.

  • Comprehensive Assessment: This begins with an in-depth evaluation of each patient’s medical history, lifestyle, genetic predispositions, and any relevant laboratory test results. This helps identify underlying physical factors such as nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or chronic conditions that may be contributing to mental health challenges.
  • Personalized Treatment Plans: Based on this assessment, an individualized treatment plan is designed that incorporate both conventional and complementary therapies. These plans may include a combination of medication, psychotherapy, nutritional support, exercise, mindfulness practices, and alternative therapies when appropriate.
  • Nutritional Support and Supplementation: Optimal mental health is closely tied to physical health, and proper nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining neurotransmitter balance. Diagnostic lab work is used to identify any deficiencies or imbalances in vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients essential for brain function. Tailored supplementation plans can help restore balance and improve mental clarity.
  • Lifestyle Modifications: A healthy lifestyle is integral to maintaining mental health. Guidance is  provided on sleep hygiene, stress management, physical activity, and other factors that contribute to emotional resilience. Regular physical activity, proper sleep, and stress-reduction practices have been shown to have a profound impact on mental clarity and mood stability.
  • Collaborative Care: A multidisciplinary approach to care, collaborating with other health professionals such as dietitians, endocrinologists, or therapists when necessary. This ensures that all aspects of a patient’s health are considered, fostering comprehensive, effective treatment.
  • Patient Education and Empowerment: The goal is to empower patients with knowledge about their own health, encouraging active participation in their treatment plans. By understanding how physical health impacts mental well-being, patients are better equipped to make informed decisions and maintain long-term wellness.

I do my best to respond as messages come in, but I’ve got boundaries (and you should too!). Messages and refills may take up to 48 hours for a reply. Don't wait 'til you're out.

Here’s the deal:

  • Monday–Thursday: Messages are checked between 9 am-3 pm.and may also be addressed after hours once I’ve wrapped up seeing patients. Messages are NOT monitored on Fridays, weekends, or holidays.
    • Messages include: Medication refill requests (please allow 48-72 hours; do not wait until the last minute),
    • Appointment rescheduling
    • Non-urgent clinical concerns

Phone calls? I’ll get back to you the next business day or so. This is a one-woman show, but I do have a full-time practice administrator now (Yeah!)

🚨 If you’re in crisis: Call 911 or head to Sycamore Springs. NAMI the Living Room 765-447-8494

📄 What’s a Superbill?

A superbill is a fancy, itemized receipt that lists all the care you received: diagnoses, services, and charges included.

You can use it to:

  • Submit for insurance reimbursement if we’re out-of-network

  • Claim benefits through your HSA or FSA

Basically, it’s your golden ticket to maybe getting some 💸 back.

We provide superbills when you’re paying out-of-pocket or using insurance we don’t accept. No cape required, just care, clarity, and a paper trail.

Therapy Referrals

At Mynd Mgmt, Follow-up visits aren’t just about medications. They often include brief supportive therapy to help you manage stress, emotions, and everyday challenges. Along the way, you might notice a little cognitive restructuring or motivational interviewing working its way into the conversation.. These therapeutic elements are part of your overall treatment and are billed accordingly.

Some patients benefit from ongoing psychotherapy for deeper or longer-term work.

If you’re a local therapist and would like to connect and be considered for referral, please reach out. We value strong collaboration within our mental-health community.

⏰ Respect the Clock, Rock the Care

Life happens. We get it. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give us a 24–48 hour heads-up so we can open the spot for someone else who’s refreshing their inbox like it’s concert tickets.

Running late? If it’s more than 10 minutes, we’ll kindly ask you to reschedule so everyone gets the time and attention they deserve.

And hey, I promise to run on time and respect your time, too. But this is mental health, and sometimes things run a little deeper or longer than expected. That’s why we hold space for flexibility because life (and healing) rarely stick to a script.

Thanks for keeping things kind, flexible, and wonderfully human.

🌧️ Special Circumstances (Because Life Happens)

We get it. Sometimes the universe throws a plot twist. If you miss an appointment due to a medical emergency or an exceptional situation, we may waive the cancellation/no-show fee.

It’s not about being strict, it’s about being human.
We’ll handle it case-by-case, with care and common sense. Because let’s be real: life happens, and sometimes it happens loudly.

If you miss three appointments in a calendar year, we’ll kindly ask you to step back from care with Mynd Mgmt. When appropriate, we’ll provide a 30-day medication supply and a list of alternative providers to help you transition smoothly.

We want to keep things manageable—for you, for us, and for every mind we serve.

💳 Keep It on File, Keep It Friendly

We keep a credit card on file, not because we don’t trust you, but because adulting is hard and calendars are trickier.

  • Miss your appointment or cancel same-day? That’s a $75 no-show fee to cover lost time and admin chaos.

  • We’ll collect the fee before scheduling anything new—fair is fair.

🔐 Don’t worry, your card is Fort Knox-level safe. We can’t see your number, and neither can anyone else.

Thanks for helping us keep things smooth, respectful, and just the right amount of bougie.

💼 2026 Policy Update

You received care.

To keep things simple and avoid billing limbo, we keep a card on file for your account.

Copays ( both in person and telehealth) are charged at the end of your appointment, and once your insurance processes the claim, any remaining balance (deductible or coinsurance) will automatically be charged to the card on file within 3–5 business days.

Please make sure your  insurance information is current and accurate, including providing an updated insurance card if coverage changes.

A receipt will be emailed to you and placed in your patient portal for your records. Kindly make sure that your email is current and receiving mail - check your spam and junk folder.

Why do we do it this way? Because billing hide-and-seek isn’t fun for anyone. We’d much rather spend our time focusing on your care.

Need a payment plan or want to chat about alternative pricing? Just ask. We’re flexible.

We appreciate your understanding and your help in keeping the schedule and billing process running smoothly so we can focus on patient care, not paperwork.

If at any time you have billing questions please email us at office@myndmgmt.com
